Laser Plumbing Coopers Plains provides 'Totally Dependable' leaking taps repair and maintenance services in the greater Brisbane region including Redlands, Logan, Ipswich and Redcliffe.

We Fix Leaking Taps Fast

Fixing a "simple" tap leak can turn into a costly nightmare and has for many of our unsuspecting customers. We've had to come in after many do-it-yourself'ers who have attempted to re-seat their own taps which is an important part of changing washer and valves to get a water tight seal. The problem is this "simple" task takes re-seating hundreds of taps to master and done incorrectly can easily cost you a whole new tap set, hours of time and frustration trying to fix it before giving up and calling someone who knows what they're doing. There are plenty of do-it-yourself guides out there unfortunately they don't warn people this so called "simple" job actually requires some experience not to mention the danger of slicing your hand open using the re-seating tool. Our advice to save your hip pocket, time and a headache is to simply pick up the phone and call the professionals.

So what has caused my tap to start leaking?

There are four main places a tap will leak from.

  • Leaking from a hardened or perished tap washer no longer creating a water tight seal - caused by age.
  • Leaking through the spout where the spindle screws into the head - caused by wear and tear.
  • Around the body washer - caused by wear and tear.
  • Leaking from the tap seat - caused by dirt and debris being caught between the jumper valve and seat.

What type of taps to do you fix?

We fix all makes, models and types of taps. Our plumbers carry a wide variety of different taps such as kitchen flip mixers, vanity basin taps, bathroom taps, sink taps, laundry taps, bath taps, spindle taps and more! I've got a leaking toilet what do I do?

It's important to get your toilet fixed reasonably quickly to save water and money. Toilets are notorious for being the unsuspected culprit in that excessive water bill. More often than not a toilet can leak much more than the average tap leak. Our plumbing technicians are very experienced with repairing all kinds of toilet leaks simply make a booking and we can be there at your earliest convenience.

What type of leaking toilets do you fix?

Unlike some plumbing companies, we repair all types of toilet leaks and all makes and models. Leaking Outlet Rubber.

Over time outlet rubbers degrade and perish, not creating the water tight seal they once before allowing water to dribble or constantly run into the bowl. Replacing the outlet rubber or outlet valve is the best solution.

Leaking Inlet Valve

Age, use and wear degrade the Inlet valve causing it to crack and split. Replacing the inlet valve is the best solution.

Leaking Outlet Valve

Similarly to a leaking Outlet Rubber a faulty Outlet Valve will not create a watertight seal and allow water to continue flowing into the bowl. Replacing the outlet valve is the best solution.

Leaking Flush Pipe

Over time the plastic seals degrade and allow water to pass. Every so often these seals need replacement. Leaking Key Seal

Not the friendliest toilet leak. The key seal is the seal between the toilet base and floor waste. When the rubber perishes waste water begins to leak onto the floor. As the entire toilet must be removed and reinstalled often this is the best time to upgrade to a newer toilet.

Cistern Screw Holes

When an inlet valve is stuck open allowing the cistern to fill up continuously water can leak out through the cistern screw holes if they are not sealed properly. Usually replacement of the inlet valve and sealing the cistern screw holes is all that is required.

Shut Off Valve

Similarly to a leaking tap a mini cistern cock or shut off valve will leak with age. The best solution is replacement of the shut off valve.

Leaking Flexi Hose or Water Feed

The water feed running from the shut off valve to the cistern can leak when the rubbers and seal perish; the best solution is always replacement.

Leaking Shower Repair & Maintenance

Laser Plumbing Coopers Plains provides 'Totally Dependable' leaking shower repair and maintenance services in the greater Brisbane region including Redlands, Logan, Ipswich and Redcliffe.

Can you fix our Leaking Shower?

Yes, our highly skilled technicians certainly can. But first we need to establish what type of shower leak you have in order to provide you the best solution in the repair.

I know my shower is leaking but don't know where!

Not a problem at all, did you know our Leak Detectors are also fully licensed plumbers? They can find and fix your shower leak. As there are a number of reasons and ways why a shower can leak, our system is a process of elimination beginning with the most common causes.

The 8 types of leaking showers

Shower head or rose

If your shower head or rose is leaking this is a true sign that the Spindle Taps or Mixer Tap cannot turn off completely and is allowing a dribble of water through. Much in the same way if you don't fully turn your tap off it keeps running. Detection: Visual inspection.

Tap penetrations

If there is no silicone sealing the Tap penetrations water will seep through into the wall cavity. Usually you will see stains from water on the backing wall or ceiling below. This kind of leak can be dangerous as mould builds up inside the wall cavity and can be undetected for months or years. Detection: Visual inspection.

Cracked or broken tiles

Whilst cracked or broken tiles do not cause the leak they can make the leak more severe. The underlying cause is usually a small hole or break in the waterproofing membrane. Detection: Flood or Dye test.

Tile grout

Similar to a cracked or broken tile. Tile grout is porous and not waterproof therefore it allows water to pass between the tiles and should stop at the waterproofing membrane. However if there is a small hole or break in the waterproofing membrane the shower will leak. Detection: Flood or Dye test.

Old silicone

Old and degraded silicone slowly becomes less waterproof over time and simply allows water to pass through it. Detection: Flood or Dye test.

Ceiling below/floor waste

Over time pipes can drop, the joins become worn and allow water to pass. Underneath the floor waste is common place for this to occur. You may notice stains on the ceiling below the shower or water dripping through light fittings or vent. Detection: Visual inspection.

Behind the tiles

A leak behind the tiles is most commonly caused by a water pipe leaking. Our Leak Detectors do not need to remove large sections of wall to locate the leak. Using their Leak Detection equipment they can non-destructively pinpoint the leak and repair it.

Shower waterproofing membrane

With age the waterproofing membrane degrades creating holes, tears and breaks. Our Leak Detectors can determine this cause of leak however to repair the shower waterproofing membrane you will require a waterproofer or tiler.
